What is a Celebration of Life? A Celebration of Life is a ceremony that is typically held in lieu of a traditional funeral or memorial service. What differentiates these services apart is the level of personalization and tone. A Celebration of Life is not a somber affair. Instead, you finds lots of laughter and storytelling. The focus is not on the death of the person, but on the joy that the person brought to others. But it can stand alone, at a venue or a church, a meeting space or be incorporated as a component at a more traditional setting. For some, even at home will work too. A celebration of life can be held with a traditional funeral memorial service, after the service in a meeting space...or a separate stand alone Celebration of Life can also be fitting at a venue, home, or location of choice.
